we only sell one product and there is no shipping cost involved no matter where the product is shipped to.
I have set a shipment method and allocated to all countries etc When the customer logs in then it shows "free shipping" at checkout but before they login/register, I need it to show free shipping at checkout rather than select shipping method. Is this possible.

In Configuration / Checkout select Enable Automatic Selected Shipment? And you can always use a language override to change the text strings.
