Title: Product Prices
Post by: godskitchen on November 22, 2012, 14:18:08 PM
Am using Joomla 2.5.8 & Virtuemart 2.0.12f

And all i want to do is show a final price. I have no costings etc just RRP & MRP £ prices for a client so all i want to show is £100 but how do i do this as the make ups etc keep changing the final price?

Thanks
Eddie

Hello,

From backend Configuration -> Pricing under Show Following Prices, check only  Final salesprice

Hi bytelord,

Thanks for the info. I have tried that leaving only "Final Sales Price" checked but when i add the price to the product and "save" it saves nothing and remains blank. I am using VM2 as a brochure only with pricing would this make a difference?

I have enclosed a link to show http://www.sackstore.co.uk/leatherfurniture/index.php/clearview-stoves/pioneer-oven-stove-detail

Hello,

When you enter final price from the backend also check the "Calculate the costprice".
But i will suggest you to go with version 2.0.14 and update your vm template overrides to the current version:

Apply the new changes inside your template files: http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_content&id=416

Also you can download:
http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/520/com_virtuemart.2.0.14_layout_changes.zip
http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/492/com_virtuemart.2.0.12_layout_changes.zip

Use firebug to examine your site code and css styling: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=102850.0
Also read more about template overrides: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=98505.0

Last please take a look on the screenshots from 2.0.14 version with no overrides for viewing in the frondend only the sales price to customers.

Regards

Hello,

Just checked the link you provide me ... Seems that the price is empty.
As you tell me when you are saving on the backend the price is not saved, i think this is not related to the front end but to the backend. Have you install lately any plugins/components for the back end that conflicts with jquery? Something is wrong on your joomla backend installation and i am thinking that there is some conflicts over there...
Do you use any third party components like OPC?

Hi Byte,

yes the price is empty as when i save it goes blank, but the ones i did originally 2-3 weeks ago when you helped me are fine and still there.

I have recently changed the HTAccess file and FTPed in a robots.txt file and a PHP.ini file. Would these make a difference to Virtuemart you think?

Hello,

It could make difference on joomla and virtuemart ... everything depends on PHP ... what did you change?

robots is fine, hataccess file depends what you are changed, please use firebug to examine your backend...https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=102850.0
PHP version?

ok,

I can say that may be have something to do ... i think is related to JCE ... am i right? Can you turn to the following:

1. Turn on another editor (not JCE)
2. Try for a momment to exclude sef urls, mod rewriting and htaccess renamed)
3. Upgrade your PHP :)

And update your template files also as i mention before:

changes between versions: http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_content&id=416

Also there is layoutchanges.zip files after 206 that will show you exactly the areas that the code have been changed. Those are images comparing to previous versions will help you to update your template overrides easy.

http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/476/com_virtuemart.2.0.10_layout_changes.zip

Hello,

If you are using template overrides you should edit those files and update them as i already posted before:

for example a template override for product details will be under joomla_root_folder/templates/your_joomla_template/html/com_virtuemart/productdetails/default.php
