I'm using Virtuemart 2.0.12 with joomla 2.5.
I'm stuck while doing this. I want to have 10% off for every 300 dollars spend in a single bill.
I tried using the tax and calculations rules but it doesn't seem to do what I want.
And I also tried creating a new user and discount. But from there, I have absolutely no idea how do I move on.
Could you please kindly suggest me how do i go about it.

There are I guess only so many tax and discount possibilities available natively in the code - but tax is extendable through the vmcalculation plugin system.
You can setup a bill wide discount but not with the per X amount..
You would probably need a plugin written specifically for this - I used one for example to enable TaxCloud taxrates (a 3rd party provider of USA sales tax rates )
