I've been looking around on the web for a way to setup a store, but instead of having people actually buy stuff on my site, use a referral link to the actual selling site.
This until I get to see if people are visiting my site and the buying is happening
Is there a way to remove the "Add to Cart" button and instead use a custom link that then pops to the actual seller site?
It's probably going to be a lot of work, but I'll see how it is and then decide if it's right for me.

i think you can use virtuemart as a product catalog and not as a store.
As for the link you could create a custom field where you will be place the url and show it in the position that "add to card" button is.
But i am not sure if this will be working (of the perspective of sales and customer relation).

Defiantly you can use VM as catalog (i wrote 'you can' instead of 'you should' on my previous post), to enable it go to BE Configuration -> Shop -> and enable Use only as catalogue.
