Hey guys :),
Just wondering if there is a way to use my current joomla articles as product pages and just add 'add to cart' or 'buy it now' buttons that will add the product to the cart. I would use then the cart module on the side of my site to keep the user up to date in regards to there cart status.
Thanks in advanced,
Jason
I was searching for this as well. You can do a search on how to do a direct link but your users will go to the cart when they click the link which I did not like. Be nice if there was a plugin for the add to cart portion of VM that works like the article attachments plugin. A button on the wysiwig editor to add the "add to cart" function to a particular item. Then update the cart module on the page without leaving the content page. Although it would surely not be a part of the "core" I would pay for it.
It should be possible to do this as a Joomla plugin, in a similar manner to the VMProductSnapshot - the instructions for that old plugin reveal some of the settable parameters. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=39493.msg124143#msg124143
You would need to invoke AJAX to update the cart so to stay on the article page.
Now it just needs a developer....
Edit added later: This has now been done for VM2 - see http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108108.0
