Hello!
I am using Joomla 1.5.25 and Virtuemart 2.02 and I cannot figure it out howto change the default Virtuemart english language to any other. For example: slovenian, since my default language is slovenian.
Could somebody please advize? Thank you so much.
Kind regards,
Rok
If you didn't do so already, you can download a slovenian VM2 language pack if you follow the first link here: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=98362.0 (http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=98362.0)
However, you need to follow the instruction in the lower part of that post (unzip the file, then copy and paste over your Joomla 1.5.25 folders).
Afterwards you have to select the frontend and backend languages in Joomla. If you want a slovenian VM2 frontend, your Joomla frontend language must be set to slovenian, too.
If you start a new shop, I would recommend to use Joomla 2.5.2 instead. That will make future updates easier. If you want a multilingual shop, it's also easier to set it up in Joomla 2.5.2.
Hey jjk!
Thank you for your fast reply.
I have a licence for a premium template 1.5.25 which I really adore and have it quite modified to my needs.
I have found the slovenian VM2 language pack on the forums yes, I just did not know the process howto enable ''the damn thing''
I am starting a brand new shop indeed. I just want it to me in one language. I Like the new joomla, but I would really like to finish this project with the old one.
Thanks for everything
jjk just one more quiestion please.
I have unzip the admin and the site files and just transfer them trough the ftp to joomla main directory (beside maps administrator, cache, components) or where? Thanks
If you transfer the backend and frontend folders, the files will automatically be in their correct directory. For example copy the unzipped administrator folder over your Joomla administrator folder and the language folder over the Joomla (frontend) language folder.
Thanks jjk, I've figured out what you were trying to say.
It worked. Thanks a lot!
