I'm working on a school website that will sell products to 5 different schools. Each school will have one User login, one for each school. Each school category needs to be hidden from the other schools. If "School A" logs in they only see the "School A" category.

Is VirtueMart2 able to do this or would I have to figure a way with Joomla's access groups and such?

Imho you can do that, yes. You need todo maybe here and there a workaround.
