Title: Error: Couldn't resolve host 'http:'
Post by: wiiideo on December 09, 2009, 00:43:46 AM
okay I've been working on the usps shipping module trying to get it up and running. I've searched around and can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Problem: I get Error: Couldn't resolve host 'http:' when I try to test checkout. For some reason the usps shipping module isn't communicating with the api server. I used the username and password usps sent me and had them turn it on live but it still doesnt seem to work. The server they gave me was http://production.shippingapis.com

If it helps, im running joomla 1.5 and the current build of virtuecart.

please and thanks if anyone knows the answer  ;D

I finally got it to work by removing the HTTP:// in front of the USPS Shipping Server Address (production.shippingapis.com)!  YIPPIE!!!

I had the same problem and fixed it by entering the following.
USPS shipping server - production.shippingapis.com/
USPS Shipping Path - shippingapi.dll

Dont forget the "/" after .com
