Check the PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPP) server. There are issues with IPNs sent to the following URLs:
...../index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=vmplg&task=notify&tmpl=component&lang=
If you don't recognize this URL, your service provider may be using Instant Payment Notification (IPP) on your behalf. In this case, contact your service provider. If this issue persists, BPP may be disabled for your account.
I fixed an issue with the IPN this march, or so, or april. The fix is in vm4.0.22.
But the fix should be also in the new vm4.2.0. an update from 4.0.x to vm4.2 should be very easy, simpel. No problems known so far.
