J4.3.0 VM 4.0.12
When a user registers through the VM checkout, the email are missing all the data.
Here is what they look like:
Hello administrator,
A new user '{NAME}', username '{USERNAME}', has registered at {SITEURL}.
AND:
Hello {NAME},
Thank you for registering at {SITENAME}. Your account is created and must be activated before you can use it.
To activate the account select the following link or copy-paste it in your browser:
{ACTIVATE}
After activation you may login to {SITEURL} using the following username and the password you entered during registration:
Username: {USERNAME}
If I register through the normal joomla process (index.php?option=com_users&view=registration), then the emails have all the data. Example:
Hello administrator,
A new user 'odin', username 'odintest', has registered at https://new.retaildisplayusa.com/.
Can someone please help me fix the VM registration emails?
Refer to this post for the solution - https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=149711.msg535633#msg535633.
Alternatively, you can update to VM 4.0.18, which should also resolve the issue.
The new code fixed the missing data. Thank you.
I wish I could upgrade but when I try I get the following issues:
1. Clicking "Check for updates" shows the following messages:
Update: :Extension: Could not parse http://virtuemart.net/releases/vm3/plg_vmuserfield_eway_update.xml
Update: :Extension: Could not parse http://virtuemart.net/releases/vm3/plg_vmcustom_download_simple_update.xml
Update: Could not open update site #578 "VirtueMart, istraxx - quantity - Update Site", URL: http://extensions.virtuemart.net/releases/istraxx/istraxx_plgvm_quantity.xml
2. When I try to update 4.0.12 to 4.0.14, I get this message:
Failed to extract file: index.php_option_com_virtuemart_view_plugin_name_istraxx_download_byhost
How do I resolve this?

Automatic update versions are now only available to VM Support Members. Maybe you have not read the VirtueMart News from 20 March - https://virtuemart.net/news/511-effective-and-sustainable-funding-with-a-virtuemart-membership
The news release from today shows that the member system is now working, and has enabled the development and release of 4.0.20

You may be trying to install http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/1362/VirtueMart4.0.14_Joomla_3.10.11-Stable-Full_Package.zip which is a full Joomla/VM starter package - ie it is designed for those starting from scratch to install Joomla with Virtuemart pre-installed.
The Joomla update installer shows a link to the VM news page.

Thank you for the clarification.
I purchased a Joomlart quickstart template package which included VM on March 23rd, so I just missed the 4.0.14 update. Bummer.
A VERY large % of problems on this forum are because of quickstarts bundled crap .. IMHO they should NEVER be used ...
start with either the http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/1362/VirtueMart4.0.14_Joomla_3.10.11-Stable-Full_Package.zip or buy a membership - install Joomla, install VM package, install a well known and well coded template .. good to go..
