Hi all,
I have something weird happening in my J3.4.8 with V3.0.12, and all javascriptt settings on except google. Cache off where ever I can. If there are 2 items in my cart, I can add item 3, and the cart is nicely updated.
But when I hit 'continue shopping', and load the category page, the cart changes into 2 items! The change, that was there, with 3 items, is suddenly not updated. How can this happen? The cart module already has that info. How can it have other info at another page? Is it not collected from the same source?
Is it a cache problem, or is the server fooling me?
Please help me, because I'm pulling my hear out :o...
Maarten
PS: when I wait for minutes and refresh, the right items are in the cart! Server problem then?!
Updated Virtuemart and -aio to 3.0.13.6, but result is unfortunately the same...
can only be caching somewhere.... server ? Cloudflare etc?
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I first thought that it can be both. I've asked my hosting provider, and they deny that it can be them. They point me to this forum! There were supposed to be many issues like mine. And I've tried many different things, from jquery settings to joomla/virtuemart cache, but nothing helps :-\ At one moment my total navigation was gone; hitting this loaded that! Choosing a green product gave Home, or a yellow product. But I managed to restore that.
- I don't use Cloudflare.
There's only one thing I can think now: that it has to be the server. So my hosting provider should respond to my request.
I'm waiting for that now!
Well, guess what? I've found the plg_cachecontrol_j3 plugin using Google, and after I installed it, the plugin pointed me to turn the Joomla cache plugin off. And in the plugin I could turn all cache off for option=com_virtuemart in the URL. I did't see this Joomla cach plugin before.
MY VIRTUEMART CART NOW DOES UPDATE! It keeps the contents when I hit 'continue shopping'!
SOLVED!!!
yes.. yesterday I was working on a site that was doing all sorts of nutty things.. in admin caching was off
but as you found there is that plugin "System - Page Cache" that can be enabled by who knows who but has no correlation to the admin cache settings.. WTF..?
