I'm running Joomla 3.4.4 with Virtuemart V 3.0.10.
I like VM over some of the other solutions out there. One thing I can't figure out is whether or not there is a way to have a custom field whereby the customer can input text. Either that or a form that can they can fill out that is associated with that particular purchase. I see where Breezingforms had something that would work, but not in this version of VM.
I'm sure this question has been asked and possibly answered, but I can't seem to find any threads to follow to a solution.

Did you try the Customer Text Input plugin/custom field?
This is built in your Virtuemart and you don't need any 3rd party solution

Hey, Balai...during the process of installing jim's suggestion I did see the built-in version. Not sure why I didn't see it before, but I'm getting old I guess. It worked as well, of course, but the new plugin has options that the out-of-the box version doesn't. No doubt I'll use them both so thanks for the help.

From what I remember the in-built Virtuemart one is one line only, whereas the plugin is a textarea.
