Title: VM3 Shipping Categories Problem
Post by: microtribe on October 14, 2015, 18:29:43 PM
Since upgrading to VM3 from VM2, the shipping plugin changed. It now has an option for categories, but it seems to require that a category be selected for shipping to work. I have fairly simple shipping rules that I want to apply to the whole store. It seems that the only way I can do this is by adding every category one by one to the virtuemart_shipmentmethods table in the database. The plugin does not let me select more than one, or apply to all categories. And if I make a different change and save my change, it erases the previous category that was saved. Is this a bug?

Just remove all the categories from categories and blocked categories and the shipping method will "ignore2 the product category.

I started out with that, but it didn't work at all until I added at least one category.

it is a normal dropdown with multiselect. Should work without any category (default), or with one ore more.

I have nearly the same problem.

If i add some categories to one shipping method and I save it,
I can find all my selected categories also in the blocking categories.

Is it not a bug?
Seems like it's not possible to define categories and different blocking categories.
Because after saving you'll find all selected categories in both selection fields!

But i realized that it's possible to select only blocking categories.

Joomla 3.4.8
VM 3.0.12

Thanks in advance for any ideas to fix or handle it.

Greetings
Michael

My resolution: I have cleared all cache in Joomla and all suddenly started working ok. I am able to set both Categories and Blocking Categories separately ok now.
