Hi,

Is anybody else getting this error when upgrading?

That's a very old Joomla version - and known to have critical security holes. Is there some reason why you are not using a more recent version, such as J2.5.28 ?

I have a lot of custom coding on the website. Upgrading may break it. I'll check with the developer and get it upgraded then.
