Title: Showing Prices In Guest Mode
Post by: perryworld on November 03, 2014, 22:22:53 PM
Hi,

We have a site at http://watches.theplanespotterscommunity.co.uk/ and have set the prices up for guest mode and default mode.
When a user is in guest mode is it possible to show just the price on the products but if they add the product to the cart for the cart to show the price/tax/discount etc
At the moment we only seem to be able to show all the details on the front end and cart - if we remove items from the front end they disappear from the cart.

We are new to VM so may be missing something obvious

Thanks
Rich

What do you mean by "guest" and "default"? Do you mean non-registered and registered?

To change the FE price display in one area and not another you use template overrides.

Hi jenkinhill,

Thanks for the quick reply.
What we are finding that when the user is not logged in on the frontend we only want to display the price which we can do by leaving the final price on and switching the other values off.
But if the user adds something to the cart and then goes to the cart, the price shows but none of the other values are displayed (we assume thats because we have switched them off)

How would we achieve just the price being showed on the frontend but the full details being showed on the cart.

Hope that makes sense

Thanks
Rich

As mentioned above, use template overrides. Do this for both the cetegory and productdetails view so you only show the single price that you require. You should levae the BE price settings to show those that you need at checkout.
