Title: Is there a QuickBooks plugin for accepting payment in VirtueMart?
Post by: catondesigngroup on June 20, 2014, 21:52:08 PM
I'm seasoned in Joomla!, but new to VirtueMart.  I'm aware there are plugins for PayPal and other "payment gateways" like Moneybooker or Authorize.net.  I have the PayPal plugin already installed, but would rather use QuickBooks as the payment gateway (since it's already used for in-store transactions).  I've read other places about "QuickBooks integration with VirtueMart" and that's not what I want...I don't think?  I just want to use QuickBooks to process payments...sorry I don't have more details; this is a "last minute" addition to a client's site before launch.  Help?

Quickbooks is an accounting package (http://www.intuit.co.uk/quickbooks-accounting-software.jsp). Not a payment gateway. But there could be confusion because of this announcemant 2 days ago: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/vend-point-of-sale-integrates-with-quickbooks-online-as-first-pos-on-intuit-appscom-marketplace-2014-06-18   - again, not a gateway but a POS integration.

Are you using IPN (Intuit Payment Network) integration with Quickbooks Online?

IPN? Isn't that an invoice payment integration?

Jenkinhill, you are probably right. That IPN service is so customers can pay off invoices. I always confuse the names of their services. They have the Quickbooks Merchant Services so the business can enter and process credit card info directly within the QB Online interface. But I think for the sake of VM online payment processing, it would need to be built off the API for this service/product:

I'd guess that this plugin to integrate with QB + IPN could be used, as it is QB that does the invoicing. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=109287.msg365943#msg365943

Looks like IPN (Intuit Payment Network) and QBMS (Quickbooks Merchant Services) are now merged:
