About 3 secs here for first load. Nothing wrong with that, and follow-up pages were faster, around 2 secs. Current version VM2.6.6 is faster than VM2.0.24 - generally speed increases with VM development, but later versions may not be compatible with your template.

You should try this -

(1) Avoid Alpha Image Loader filter -
IE's AlphaImageLoader blocks rendering and increases page load times.
(2) Make fewer HTTP requests -
Reduce HTTP requests through combined files and CSS sprites.
(3) Use cookie-free domains -
Serve static content from a different domain to avoid unnecessary cookie traffic.
(4) Avoid CSS expressions -
Expressions can produce thousands of unnecessary CSS evaluations.
(5) Reduce the number of DOM elements -
A complex page means more bytes to download, and it also means slower DOM access in JavaScript.

Thanks.

I checked your website and i found your site is loading bit fast only. However you have to optimize the images, it seems images called separately and also minify css work.  Moreover your website loading fast enough, please check this link : https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=www.dr-ink.ca%2F&tab=desktop
