Title: cart not showing shipping after adding 7th item

We are having a problem with our site where if you add more than six items, the shipping options disappear with a message of "Shipping Options Will be displayed here when a Ship-to Zip Code is Entered."




Tried so far
- removed value in the product packaging field for 7 items. Did not affect the error.
- tried various combinations of products
- This occurred for 3 different people (2 were superadmins, one was a customer)
- Tried setting the session values from database to none.

I understand that the limitation has to do with overflowing the session. I did read about a possible fix that involved changing the field type for the session from text to mediumtext. I"m reluctant to change the default settings.

This problem is definitely repeatable.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this..

Update - I saw some posts that the problem could be related to the data field in the session table being text. The suggestion was to change the field type to mediumtext. When I checked, it was set to mediumtext so I changed it to longtext. The cart still does not work properly when you add a seventh item.

I'd greatly appreciate any help with this.
