Does anyone know how to highlight the required fields on the shopper field lists so that they are in a different colour as well as denoted by an asterisk.
I am using Joomla 2.5.9 and Virtuemart 2.0.14. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Before trying to style the user form you are strongly advised to update. Both your Joomla and VirtueMart versions are old and have known critical security issues which have already been exploited by hackers. Current versions are J2.5.14 and VM2.0.24
