Title: Virtuamart Search adding categories drop down
Post by: StreamAlex on September 30, 2013, 14:25:29 PM
Hello!

Im using the latest version of Joomla and Virtuamart. Im using the Virtuamart Search module, is there a way to add a dropdown with categories? Maybe editing the template, would appreciate any guidance.

Thank you

DRopdown with categories? Do you mean an catgories menu module? Or something like this - http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=100913.0

I mean adding the option to filter search after categories. Right now its just a plain search module, which has no extra options/features.

I installed the plugin Custom Filters, which is great with the categories filter. However, there is no search field in that module. I need to be able to have a search field as well.

Did you check all available options in it or maybe you asked its developer here in 3rd party forum section?

Thanks!

Just posted a question about Custom Filters features in that thread.

Im no expert at php, but it feels like editing the standard virtuemart search to just display a category dropdown shouldnt be too complicated? Surely somone must have required that feature.

You haven't success with surfing 3rd party forum? No existing solutions there?
