Me too - first time it's happened.  I was able to get the AIO updated ok, just not the main program.  Surprising no solutions given it's not just one person having the issue - actually scrap that - just spotted there are others previously with the same problem, but unsure still of solution as further issues discussed clouding the info.  Think I'll just wait until the next one comes out  ;)

I had the same problem, and then I downloaded the zip files and installed manually. That worked for me.

However, a while back when I tried to upgrade I couldn't get anything to work and eventually I reinstalled Virtuemart 2.0.20b first. That was a few weeks ago.

Akkeba backup users:
In extension manager / install you see this on the bottom:
Extensions installation enhanced by Akeeba Backup • Back to standard installer • What's this?
Sure make a complete backup before.
Then click on "Back to standard installer" install of the extension is working then.

I will write to akeeba on Monday.

I am getting the exact same problem, but I don't have Akeeba installed.
Any ideas?
J 2.5.14 VM 2.0.20b trying to install VM 2.0.24
(it looked like it installed successfully with the other tool and with joomla install, but VM still reports it's not up to date)

What is your version? Check Joomla Extensions Manager.

Don't use the live update button - a token error comes from the Akeeba live update code with some servers, or from using the Akeeba's System Restore Points setting where Backup Pro is installed.
Update by downloading the files from http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files and using Joomla's extensions installer.

Or just disable the Akeeba enhanced installer. Our hack protection and akeeba seems to get in trouble.

could akeeba and VM get friends durin install updates?
I wrote to akeeba:

nicholas
AKEEBASUBS, DELUXE
Just disable the System - System Restore Points plugin. FYI, this information is displayed at the top of your extensions installer page.

but this is not a solution

here is what Akeeba wrotes:

They did tell you that their code is not compatible with our software. I can't do anything about it. They know why it happens, they don't see fit to provide a fix. I can't go ahead and fix another developer's code, can I?

It is your turn please to fix it.
