From the categories module or from the VM category page?

vm category ... for example.. i have some categories that are empty no products in them... so idea is that visitors can not even see empty categories. it is not looking good for visitor  to go inside category and not to find any products

You have several options, i.e.:
- You could enable stock control and display an 'in stock' image when your products are available and display 'out of stock' or 'sold out' when you don't have any left.
- You could simply unpublish the sub category link from the menu and/or unpublish the subcategory.

i agree, but is there some automatic way ? for example VM shows category while there is products on stock.... as soon as products are out of stock he hide category ...

i have more than 2200 products in 180 categories and subcategories... (www gusari com) every day we have to update over B2B portal ...
