Title: Help fix category & product pages after site broken after upgrade 2.0.18a

Hi there!

Yesterday my website broke after upgrade VM from 2.0.6a to 2.0.18a. I managed to salvage most of it thanks to jenkinhill who suggested I download and install latest VM 2.0.20.

But I need to fix the product page and category view that now look wrong. As well as the section in the top right for currencies, login and cart.

For example:
- category now looks like this http://www.saranadin.info/index.php/viruemart-store/magnesium and layout should look like sample here http://www.templatemonster.com/demo/39529.html

- likewise product view - http://www.saranadin.info/index.php/viruemart-store/magnesium/magnesium-chloride-oil-detail should look like http://www.templatemonster.com/demo/39529.html

- and currencies/visitor looks like http://www.saranadin.info/ but should like it does in either of the above sample template views.

I have a copy of a backup from last week that I can salvage from.

Does anyone know which files I can copy from backup to fix how the category view and product pages look plus the modules that control currencies, login and cart?

you need to set products per row to more than 1

for category, each category has its own setting


you cant just copy files over. you need to update the template files.
I think template monster should do this, but some template makers do not do upgrades.

I have been in contact with template monster. As it turns out this template is only made for VM version 2.0.6 (plus Joomla 2.5.4) and upgrading will break the template - which it did! I cant understand this but will worry about it later.

It was suggested that I uninstall VM 2.0.20 and reinstall 2.0.6.

Before I continue I need to give background info -

After VM upgrade and site broke, host had found backup from 6th march and restored site.
Eg:
public_html = Backup 6th March
public_html_org = 11th March Website

I was advised to manually install VM 2.0.20. So moved back public_html_org to public_html. This fixed most things except the issues with category view etc listed on this original post.
Eg:
public_html = 11th March Website
public_html_restored6march = Backup 6th March

After that I learned from templatemonster that I need to uninstall VM 2.0.20 and reinstall 2.0.6 (template compatible version).

Before continuing I wanted to check what the earlier version of VM was installed.

So reinstated public_html_restored6march as public_html and this website looks back to normal.
Eg:
public_html = Backup 6th March
public_html_org = 11th March Website

Does anyone know what happened and how this can be?

Either have someone else update the template., do it yourself, or change templates.

The so called "advise" they give you is THE WORST ON THE WEB
