Title: VirtueMart 2 Joomla 2.5
Post by: cqgraphics on March 02, 2013, 19:50:08 PM
Hello everyone at VirtueMart Forums,

I am new to the VirtueMart 2 Cart and a bit confused. I had few questions on how VirtueMart 2 functions. I need help with the following:

1. On the front end of my website there is an icon on the product(s) where users have the options to Edit the product. How do I remove that feature? I do not want my customers to be able to edit anything.

2. Product Custom Fields, I am selling Graphic Design services on my website with the following options:

a. Size
b. Paper Stock
c. Quantity
d. Shipping Speed
e. Sides

What custom fields should I use to successfully do this with each product? I have 31 graphic design services.

if anyone can help please do, I really wish to successfully have my site up and running asap.

Thank you

I think that is due to default users permissions in joomla "User manager" Interface. When the users register themselves, they should be marked as registered users but without author, editing or publishing permissions. Further options may be setup by clicking the options button in the user manager. It may also be setup in site- Global configuration - Permissions. Inheritence order: Site/Permissions ->User Manager/options ->article wise/add user.

Then there is another option of article -> display options and article edit options. Inheritence should be site/permissions-> Category Manager / Options -> article manager/ options and lastly article based.

Now, I expect that because in VM, I have not found that sort of permission settings.

1. You were logged into the front end as administrator. Normal site visitors do not see that.

2. Only size would be a custom field. (depending on what you mean by "sides".
