Hi guys and gals. I´m doing a website which sells a variety of food specials and we need to set up a delivery date for the food (especific month/day/hour), I remember there was a core hack for the olde Virtuemart that let you add the delivery date when checking-out, sadly while searching in the forums i couldn´t find anything like that for this new version of Virtuemart, notice i´m not a developer and i didn´t find any plug-ins either. Anyone know how to solve this? or know any reliable plug-ins for this? Could the old hack (http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=52919.0) work with the Virtuemart 2.X??

Hello - If all you need is are basic Delivery Date and Delivery Time fields, you should be able to do that with VM 2.0 custom fields now.
If you need to control the Delivery options that you want a customer to be able to choose from, or limit the number of deliveries allowed for a particular date and time, or exclude certain holidays from the available dates, we can assist you with a custom plugin. For any Virtuemart shop owners want to set up a delivery date (day/month/year) for your products ( food, flowers, bakery, gift...) then this plugin is for you.
This is a Joomla plugin, but work exclusively for Virtuemart. After install the plugin like normal Joomla extension, activate the plugin and now your shopper can chose a delivery date during the check out process.
How it works:
- Shopper select delivery date by a calendar window at check out page.
- Shoper does not have to log-in, still can chose the delivery date.
- Admin can see the Required Delivery date in the order.
- Delivery date can be displayed in the order confirmation email
- The plugin store delivery date time inside Virtuemart order database.
With this plugin, you do not have to change or edit Virtuemart code, you can update Virtuemart anytime you want.
