I recently migrated from Zen cart to virtuemart using shopping-cart-migration. Everything went OK, but there is a lot of HTML in my category and product descriptions.
is there a way to remove this all at once?
second is there a good way to export all products and upload them again in the same categories? i tried using csvi export but this doesn't work for me .

I can only think of using regex search & replace to remove html
I have no problems using CSVI 4 - have you tried the most recent version. It is the only real option available unless you export using phpMyAdmin.
