Title: How can I modify "Add To Cart"-functionality to accept decimal quantity?
Post by: toskevik on May 04, 2012, 01:10:35 AM
Hi. I need to modify my VM2.0 to accept decimal quantities of our products. We own QuiltShop that sells fabrics and batting by yards and meters. To match the old and (hopefully) soon obsolete ZenCart installation this needs to happen before we launch the new site. VM has a far better admin back end, so I'd like to use it, but if our customers can't type in the exact amount they need we'll loose them to other stores where they can.

Have anyone been able to achieve this functionality in VM2.0 yet? (It was a breeze in VM1.1...)

To clarify; the customer must be allowed to type in the exact amount in 10 cm or tenth of yard increments and thereafter click the "Add To Cart"-button. We can't present them with a pull-down-list or a bunch of buttons - that's not good enough.

Anyone?

Hi,

we did this in the VM1 by defining in the database that the product quantity can be a desimal instead of the default setting of integer. It worked fine in the Vm1. Havent yet tested it in VM2.

Greetings,
