Title: HTTPS on checkout not working as expected
Post by: iamTony on January 06, 2016, 06:12:32 AM
LIVE SITE: http://www.novabiostorage.com/
VIRTUEMART VERSION: VirtueMart 3.0.10
JOOMLA VERSION: Joomla! 3.4.8 Stable [ Ember ]
PHP VERSION: 5.6.16
SEF: Artio Joomsef 4.6.4 with VM extension version 3.1.5
ONE PAGE CHECKOUT by Rupostel: version 2.0.299.031015
Yireo SSL redirect: I'm using this to control sll redirects, all pages are forced from https to http but I've triggered virtuemarts SSL on sensitive pages to enable https on cart and checkout.

NO error logs

I really need help with my current issue, Several days now and I can't find a solution.

Whenever https in on at the checkout page I keep getting "Please enter your billto address First Name, Last Name, Address 1, Zip / Postal Code, City, Country" but clearly those fields are populated. If I disable the https and just use http everything works fine.

I also tried disabling OPC(One page checkout) and using VM's default checkout and the situation is somewhat the same but a little different. For default virtuemart the page simply refreshes like nothing happens also I noticed that If I enter billing information they don't save. but if I disable https everything works fine again.

I've also checked the logs and get no errors.

I've posted the same issue in the rupostel forums. I'll also open the sandbox payment method if anyone wants to test.

Thanks in advance!

But why haven't you spoken to Stan at Rupostel about this?  He gives excellent support...

I've actually posted on rupostel forums. But I've noticed even if I disabled the one page checkout plugin the same error persists. I'm looking at it's either a virtuemart or SSL issue. I've actually disabled all SEF generations for the cart still the same problem checkout form is not working and not saving.

QuoteYireo SSL redirect: I'm using this to control sll redirects, all pages are forced from https to http but I've triggered virtuemarts SSL on sensitive pages to enable https on cart and checkout.

what is this for?  never needed on my sites and I have many ssl now

just set in Joomla  admin force ssl whole site and uncheck VM sensitive.. then the whole site is ssl without problems

or if you only want ssl on checkout (why, the trend now days is for full ssl) then vice versa

I would love to force https on the whole site. Boss however is forcing me not too. Using Yerio so  I won't need to configure via .htaccess.

Well just for the sake of testing, I forced https and checkout is working now. Could anybody at least share what could be the problem. I'm betting mixed content issue of http and https.

Now convincing my boss . . sigh

Can't do that route. my boss is kinda "techie" and actually does the SEO and google analytics. You would love him. His best line for employees its
"What is taking so long? is just php."
