my website is having very bad loading times and I have checked with Google speed test and getting an average score of 60

but my vertuemart store is getting even lower at 50 points and sometimes lower.

is there any advice that you guys can give me to Optimize my website and store to make it as fast as possible?

thanks everyone for their time!

First of all, the Google speed test doesn't measure loading times. My own VM2 shop has a Google Speed index of 30, but actually loads pretty fast.
However, Google stuff appears to be one of your problems.
Your template tries to load *.woff fonts from Google, which often is extremely slow. The same is true for your Googleapis.
Slideshows consume a lot of server resources, too.
In general, switch off what you don't really need, especially elements which are loaded from external sources.

If you use the Firefox browser, install the 'Firebug' plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firebug/. If you click on the 'Net' tab, it will show you the loading times of all your page elements.

Im a newb so please be kind if i say or ask anything stupid.
Hi thanks so much for the information so if i were to tell all this to my website developer i should give him a list like this:
-Turn off *.woff fonts from Google.
-Turn off Googleapis.
Will turning off any of these, change the looks of my website?
Also the load times on a actual product page is so slow that everything stop for about 10 seconds.

Thankyou

If you have to tell your website developer what to do, it looks like your website developer is a newbie, too  ;)

Your website (probably your template) tries to load many fonts and javascript libraries from Google, which often is extremely slow. Your website developer should try to shut off external resources as much as possible, especially the webfonts. Another example is 'mootools'. Joomla has it's own mootools javascript library. There is no need to load it from Google. In Virtuemart configuration it might help to disable 'Use external google jQuery library'.

However, your website developer could easily see the problems himself if he would use the 'Firebug' browser plugin. (Maybe you should install it, too. That way you can show him which elements are causing the long loading times).

The images are too big ! You should optimize the images, make them smaller in bytes !
