according to latest news available on joomla site "We plan to release Version 2.5 beta on or before December 20th".
So is the vm 2.0 stable version outing in December 19th compatible with this?

It should be compatible, when you manage a manual install. But the installation procedure is using some stuff, which is not compatible atm.
a billion dollar question is:
When would it be "automatically" compatible?
Should we wait version 2.1 ..?
J2.5 beta is still buggy - the installer was described to me by a different component's dev as "flakey", which is why, I guess, it works with a manual install but not with suto-install. Once the final J2.5 version is released (still 4 weeks away) and the auto-updater from J1.7 to 2.5 can be used, then VM can and will be properly tested in real life situations.

I know its a very basic question. But how can I make a manual installation? change the jos_component and jos_modules tables?
I have Virtuemart 2.0 and Joomla 2.5beta1. I get this errors:

Well I have installed dozens of extensions without errors in 2.5.1 Beta 1 since it release few days ago without any problems and only VM gives the "500 JModel: :getName() : Can't get or parse class name." Since for instance ACESef, JCE, Joomshopping all install well on Joomla 2.5.Beta1 you might start thinking something in VM 2.0 is not according to convention? Installed 5 minutes ago with error mentioned....
