I have about 2500 products in Fortune3, a commercial shopping cart.  I'm considering moving to VirtueMart, but I'm afraid I'm beyond my ability.

If I choose a person to trust, I could provide the necessary passwords to both systems and allow you access.

Ideas?

here is your answer:   no!

they do not provide the needed export file, a lot of information will be missing, and the file is proprietary to their system

I think involving a third party is not the best option. It is better to trust your import to the SaaS whre you can control the process, and your information is safe and confidential. I have used this import service www.file2cart.com  if you are interested ;)
( but it only moves products and product information)
