Title: Virtuemart changing .jpg to .png please advise
Post by: chrisdevelop on September 25, 2016, 22:48:38 PM
Im running virtuemart 3.0.4 on a joomla 3 template

I am fining something strange on importing products for some reason when i click on the product, its showing that their is a warning triangle, when i look at the image file, its saying it cant find the image which has .PNG at the end.

This is strange, because all the image files uploaded are all .JPG and on the import file they also end with .JPG at the end of the image url path.

Can anyone shed any light on why Virtuemart is changing the extention when clearly both the image itself and the import are all saying .JPG

Any help would be welcomed as i cant launch the site like this and I have also noticed that even uploading manually i.e. by selecting upload and importing from the PC it again shows as .PNG.

When i look at the media files however its showing correct as .JPG

This is weird and strange.

never seen this

is this only some images?

If so check them carefully..  resave them in an image software as a jpg
customer supplied images can be misnamed.. they think by changing the suffix the are changing the file type

Everything is enabled, im grasping as well.  I used a trial of virtuemart store manager to upload as CSVI approved is way too expensive for me, I really dont know why virtumart include a simple import/export in their product, everyone else does so
