I'm not sure if this question is more of a theme issue rather than Virtuemart, but any suggestions are welcome. I am currently running VirtueMart 3.0.17.6 with Joomla 3.8.1 and the Reviver theme. My problem is I recently tried to update Virtuemart, and from the back end, the update seemed to go well. However, when I checked the front end of the website, it looked all messed up, almost as if some of the CSS was being ignored. Most of the internal product detail pages seemed to look OK, so it appears to be just the front page. Any idea why this might be happening? I found an old thread here that seemed to have a similar issue: https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=131058.0. Thank you for any advice you can offer.

Your template is probably outdated and you're getting PHP errors. Enable error reporting in VM.

Your template will need updating. Changes to js and a new class were introduced for VM3.0.18 with the required template changes documented here:  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=135402.0

In VM3.2 there are also more configuration options to be worked through, but you do need to use at least VM3.2.2 with Joomla 3.7+
