Hi,
I have Joomla 2.9, VM 2.0.18a

I have searched forum, but did not find any answer to solve this issue:
I keep getting this message:

Exception in loadConfig for unserialize hidemainmenu b:0;
What does it mean, and how can I solve it / get rid of this message?
I appreciate your help here.
Thank you a lot.

>>The error is just that there is an old entry in the config, which is stored in the db.
>>delete the config.php in the com_virtuemart folder Backend.

I did go to : /administrator/components/com_virtuemart
there are maybe 5 config files in several subfolders - which one shall I delete ?

>>Then go in the phpmyadmin and delete the entries in the virtuemart_configs table.
I deleted, but after the row got created again, and the issue is appearing again

I have 2.0.18a ==> so you dont really mean me to downgrade - or do you ?

I dont see any answer there...

That is why i am posting it here - trying to understand what the issue is, and how to eliminate it.
Thank you for any help/instructions that will lead to a solution.

I dont see any answer there...

"To avoid this message, enter your virtuemart config and just save it one time
    Version: J2.5+2.0.18a"

You can also use "Renew VirtueMart configuration by file" in VM db tools.

Hi Jenkinhill,

The advise you gave me - is basically what is error message saying in VM, this did not help, that is why i wrote here.
this was clean install - did not work.
I did another clean install and message is not appearing anymore.
Pity i dont know the rootcause.

I have also tried everything on every forum mentioned, but nothing helped. Did a clean install three times, but error keeps appearing. If you google the error, you see that MANY websites have this same issue. Nowhere is a clear solution to this problem.

All the solutions mentioned by Milbo and others on these posts:

ALL are NOT working. Every time I save the configuration in Virtuemart, the error is back again. I just now updated to 2.0.20a, hoping that the error was fixed, but no luck. The error is still there!

Is there really no working and, more importantly clear explanation, on how to resolve this error?
