Title: Virtuemart keeps crashing when I go to 'Confirm' purchase.

I have a Joomla 2.5.25 website and have Virtuemart installed on it (2.6.2) and only accept Paypal - was working fine but recently has stopped working. I think this happened after I upgraded Virtuemart.
When I go to checkout it allows me to enter name, address, shipment type & acceptance of TofB.
However when it comes to 'Confirm order' it crashes (does not get as far as paypal) - http://www.my web site /index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=cart&task=confirm

I am a real novice to this so any help is gratefully accepted.

Sorry but never used a Forum before - so hope I am doing this right !

What do you mean "crashes"? White screen? If so see http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=117042.0

Any third party VM extensions such as one page checkout? With no URL it is not possible for us to know!

Sorry when I say Crashes - goes to an Error HTTP 500 Website cannot display this page - when the checkout is done and I have clicked on 'Confirm the order'.

500 errors are recorded in the server error log - check there for the cause of the error.

You have to find out what the crash is - a 500 error is just saying that the (normally) the php process failed - it can fail for losts of reasons  (run out of memory etc)
Best ask your host to tell you what the error actually is.. then we can advise further (or search on here for the threads on white screens)

did you update both the component and the AIO?

white screen means a fatal error. Go in the joomla config, and set the error reporting to maximum, and then go in VM and set the debug on. The fatal error will be dispalyed.

Thank you everyone for your help, time & advice - much appreciated - I re-installed an earlier version of Virtuemart (2.6.12) and it worked straight away. Guess my site didn't like the 2.6.2 version ! Thanks again.

2.6.12 is the latest .. 2.6.2 is old...
