Debating on paid membership subscription component (joom/VM)

Hi everybody, hope we are all doing well this evening.

I am in the process of building a joom/vm site and have been looking at some paid membership extensions.
I have used these before on other joom sites but not with vm

What I need to accomplish is...
There will be free memberships which will...
1. Not get any shipping discount
2. Not get any product cost discount
3. Cannot access some content within joom

Then I need a paid membership with a free trial which will...
1. Receive shipping discounts
2. Receive price discounts
3. Be able to access all content in joom

I also need the memberships to be recurring payments, there will be different 'packages' such as monthly, quarterly etc

I have used AEC on joom sites before, but I think that might be a little overkill for this project...just not sure.

I was looking into Akeeba Subscriptions but again...not sure on this one

Thought I would come by here and grab some opinions from all of you fine folks.
