hi artdepot2001, You can always use the template in VirtueMart Catalogue mode. If you want to change the cart to an inquiry cart then standard VirtueMart functionality needs to be customized. It is not really controlled by a template.
I'm interested in this template, but I'm still fairly new to VirtueMart and have some questions. Is this a full on template, or is it a theme that can be used within my existing template? I'm running Joomla 2.5 with VM 2 and have my own custom designed template which uses HTML5 and CSS3 responsive functionality. Yes, customs fields which are cart attributes can be seen from category layout even from front page layout when you click on "Quick Look" button which is shown on Mouse Over for a respective product.

Two questions:
1. Is it possible, trying to avoid an extra click - to have it not be a popup, but actually shown in the listing? (Clicking Quick Look is just like clicking Product Details!)
2. The site is just about done - save this one sticking point - will the category/default.php file stand alone if I were to carry it over to the existing template/design (Shape5 Eshopper) or are there clearly defined files that can be carried over to make this work? In other words - can I use your category layout in another template or is an integral part of your template?
1. It is possible to show custom fields with product listing but it is not possible with VP ProMart Template as that will spoil the original design of the template.
2. VP ProMart is a responsive Joomla template. You can not combine functionality of two separate Joomla Templates together. It is not possible.

Stefan, You must be viewing the demo site within the iframe layout which enables you to switch between different demos (Using this link: http://demos.virtueplanet.com/?theme=promart). When you are viewing a responsive demo site then you should close the iframe by clicking the cross sign available at the top of the iframe.
Otherwise just use the direct link of the demo site i.e. http://demos.virtueplanet.com/promart/ Now you will be able to experience the responsive layout also on any mobile browsers.

There is no meaning to develop a plugin with same features which can be served by any other existing extension. It won't benefit Virtuemart. The template does not have any seperate background color for Product Page. However if you want you can the overall background of the template from the template settings area if you need.

The size of the product box depends on the size of the image, product title etc and the Product per Row set under VirtueMart Settings. If you have different sizes of images or product title or set different row per products settings then the boxes will get sized automatically depending on the same.

Vento is not a responsive theme and it is also not HTML5. So you can not club it with VP ProMart.

All one page checkout plugin is compatible to VP ProMart however none of the one page checkout plugin has a responsive layout. So you will need to customize the layout of the plugin to get it working perfectly on a responsive of template like VP ProMart. Probably you are seeing the problem because you are viewing the template within the demo selector iframe. We actually do not consider this as a problem. The pop-gallery is shown using PrettyPhoto jQuery Plugin. The gallery thumbnails are intensionally placed on the big image which are shown only on mouse over. This actually saves the height and the modal container and allows you to see bigger enlarged image. However if you want then the same can also be changed very easily with a line css tweak and you completely stop the overlapping. You can post on our support forum when the template is installed in your site and we will guide you with the change for your need.
The template can work in any LTL languages including Russian without any problem. Basically you will just need to install and Russian language pack of Joomla and VirtueMart in your site and set Russian as your default language. The template does not play any role in this. However please note that VP ProMart does not support RTL languages.

- The ask question popup is not responsive
- the mircodata stuff is not compliant
- lacks of mega menu system for the shop menu, like on "vmfashion" (I know I can install it later but it's a must have today)
- The "Quicklook" button is perfect, but why not put a little add to cart next to it ? (and so a notify instead in case of out of stock)
i would prefer schema.org system with microformat, for example this page Traceur Canon IPF 6400 (http://www.materiel-grand-format.fr/boutique/traceur/traceur-canon-ipf6400.html) is really ok if you test it with Google Structure Data testing Tool

Using Micro-format is always tough so we have started adding schema codes in our templates recently. Our upcoming template (VP MegaMart) has an option to enable/disable schema in product pages. We will also add the same feature in VP ProMart in its next update.

It is very hard to implement a mega menu system in responsive layout. VP ProMart is built on 100% Twitter Bootstrap framework which still does not have a mega menu system. It will not be possible for us to add Mega Menu system in VP ProMart but we are already in process to develop our own responsive mega menu system which will be implemented in our future templates. Our next template (VP MegaMart) also has a built in mega system but it is not a responsive template. VP MegaMart is expected to be released within this week.

We know that it may suit better to show a direct add to cart button for some of the shop but not for all. Because that way when a custom click on the add to cart button on product listing page they move directly to cart page. They do not get a chance to see the product options/cart attributes available for the product. That is the reason why we added Quick View feature in VP ProMart. If you want to show add to cart button then there needs to be check where customers able to see the cart attributes and able to chose them before adding the product to the cart. I am glad to inform you that we have also implemented this in VP MegaMart. If you are not looking for a responsive design then probably VP MegaMart will be a better choice for you.

For the quick addtocart, I understand that, yes, because I have the issue on one of my sites as the customer don't choose a mandatory option to get the best price (he must tell us wich hardware refurbished he will return to get the discount), but this is an old virtuemart issue or at least I must say a lack of feature (IMUO). We can't lock the add to cart button if the customer didn't choose X option.
This apart yes, I look about a responsive one, but wait for your new VP Megapart to see it all :)
Another thing that could be great is to have the possibility to switch (in the categories) from list view to mosaic view instantly from icons.

Has anyone mastered the image sizes in VP Promart so the zoom function works properly? Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Most of my images are high and thin. Tried 150 x 350 but zoom doesnt work on quick view or full details. So tried 200 x 500 (wide x high). Zoom works in quick view but not in full product details. I just get 2 huge images when hover in full details.
My square images don't zoom either. 350x350 and I just get 2 big images in zoom. 500x500 and same again.

PM me the link of the page where you have uploaded 500x500px image and Image Zoom is not working. I need to check it myself.
I tried this template out and it worked flawlessly. My only regret is that I can't use the Virtuemart portion of it with my current template. :'(

VP ProMart is a responsive Joomla 2.5 Template not a VirtueMart Theme so you can not combine its VirtueMart layouts with any other Joomla Template.
We will release another responsive Joomla 2.5 Template for VirtueMart 2.0 in April 2013.
New VirtueMart theme (which can work with any Joomla Template) is expected by May 2013 and we have plan to release 4 more such themes within 2013.
I bought a license of this template as it looked pretty promising from the start and I never regretted that choice. The template is VERY VERY good and even fro me, as a VM novice and not having worked with his templates before, very easy to handle.
And I can only praise his support which I found nothing short but EXCELLENT. Iy' really a joy and a huge help to find and be able to work with those kind of products and developers when developing advanced websites.

euh... i'm a bit confused :o
Is VP pro mart only a virtuemart template? It can't handle joomla modules/views? I'm a bit lost between the description "template" and "theme" at the moment. I bought a template once in the past and it gave me the same look for joomla pages and virtuemart pages. It is an uniform look for the whole website. Is VP pro mart not like that?
I have been looking at your template and I like what I see. The speed is good, the look also. But I would do some small changes myself :D But before purchasing the template I want to be sure that I don't have to rework the whole template to work with joomla modules as well.
And also... you are launching a few new templates during the month of may. What are the major changes with the current VP pro mart template? Because I really like the twitter bootstrap look and feel. I'm not sure if I should wait untill you bring the new templates online or if I should get the current VP pro mart template..

The new responsive template release was rescheduled. It will be released this month.
I set default country in vm backend to 223 (USA) Now when someone goes to the cart there is, in the bt and st, the default country showing but the bt and st are not complete and I would like to not show the country until all the details have been submitted. Your favorite VP ProMart template is also fully compatible to VirtueMart 2.0.22a. We have also added Schema Markups to the products for better SEO. Now the search result of the products will be displayed along with Ratings, Prices etc. See the below screenshot for ready reference:

We have also modified the head structure of the template for better cache and SEO. The currency module has been redesigned. There are also few other changes we have made in the template which includes script optimization and IE10 compatibility etc.

Is it possible to sort the items by price in the template VP ProMart?
Product sorting in category page is basic feature VirtueMart. VirtueMart can sort products by price if you have set the same in VM Config. If it works with any Joomla Template or with default VirtueMart layout then it will also work fine with VP ProMart template.

VP SuperMart and VP ProMart are completely two separate Joomla Templates. Product filters and product comparison are special built in features of VP SuperMart and they can not be integrated with any other template.
VP ProMart has been updated to Ver 1.1. We recommend all existing users to update the template in their site as soon as possible.
