Hello,

I strongly recommend you to upgrade to VM2.0.14 or 2.0.16 that comes next days, 206 is too old and buggy version, please consider it.

On your issue please check your configuration under your vendor ... on VM Backend check under Shop the default currency and also Configuration -> Shop, do you have Multilingual shop enabled? or empty?

byte lord do you think i will be safe updating live from the version i have now. Im not familiar with backing up vm or installing first off the live site.

I have put about 2 weeks of work into my template and vm shop items i got on there now. I dont wanna ruin them all.

On another note. Under Multilingual shop  it says select some options (united kingdom) english is the only option. but its not selected.

this is what it is under vendor

Vendor:
Permissions:
shopper

    admin
    storeadmin
    shopper
    demo

Shopper Number / ID:
Shopper Group:

    -default-

nothing about currency

Puggle12 that is of course not so easy to answer

First you must lern how to update correctly. There are FAQs and other threads. In short, use akeeba, install your live system at home http://docs.joomla.org/Configuring_a_XAMPP_server_for_joomla_development

Then just install the new version over the old one.

Now comes the tricky part, the damn overrides. Ensure that you copy every changed layout to the template override folder, if you dont know what I am talking, see here http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/Hints_for_the_use_of_the_template_system. It has also the advantage, that you know, which files you changed.

Just a note, I would check how vm looks like without any override. Because I am quite sure you often fixed just small errors, which are fixed now anyway. The update from 2.0.6 to 2.0.8 was imho the most nasty one.

Please look under the vendor tab not the additional info tab ...

As Milbo said about template overrrides:

Hopefully you have made all your overrides under the folder: joomla_root_folder\templates\your_joomla_template\html\com_virtuemart

changes between versions: http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_content&id=416

Also there is layoutchanges.zip files after 206 that will show you exactly the areas that the code have been changed. Those are images comparing to previous versions will help you to update your template overrides easy.

I can not for the life of me find a vendor tab under the shop or under configuration. I must be blind or really ignorant.

I am not going to update anything untill i get the previous version up and running smoothly first.

If you go under Shoppers and select your vendor user ... is a vendor? If you edit that user does it show your vendor information? You have changed vendors?

Hmm updates add new features, right. But updates add also bugfixes. In this case we say that you should update, because 2.0.6 was not robust enough with the vendor information. So learn to work local, then you can try if the update is fixing your probelm. Otherwise I fear we have vicious cycle here.

Hello,

Use akeeba first to make good backup (free version is great -> https://www.akeebabackup.com/) of your web site, after update local, update your template files if you have overrides as post on my previous post.

To your screenshot ... than user is not a vendor, you have delete or change super admin or you have change group for you admin user, please place the user to admin and then check again vendor tab to change currency

hopefully wont have to back up.

I clicked make a vendor under my username about 12 times eventually when i logged back in vendor button was back and i could change the Currency.

Now, i have a new problem.

Now my currency is changed but my custom fields where i have sizing with different prices is showing the wrong price.

i add +20 and my currency is set to Canadian but i think its still showing the Euro amount because it shows it as around $26.85 or something here is attached screenshot.

that is the normal daily work. If you are going proffessional you should most time work with the backups of your customers and learn how to update stores live without any risk (yes I explained that already in other threads).

ive updated to 2.0.16 virtuemart now.

at least now i know how to back up the site.

Please configure properly your vendor currency information, if you don't need other currencies disable them

And make sure you have Canada inserted as country in the vandor/additional information tab.
