Ok dare I ask, this is my second template and I have updated to the latest versions of Joomla and VM and it seems to me that there are still some major issues here.

I am re-creating my entire site again from scratch with a newer (stabler) template and I have added 2 products so far here are my issues thus far:

#1 it seems that the products are being tripled? very bizarre and frustrating!
#2 The images are not showing correclty, even though I made sure sizes matched as closely as possible to the sample data.
#3 When I try to do a test purchase, it appears to have no place to enter my information and create an account from the cart., or check out as guest.
#4 in addition to the above I would like to change the font to match the original template that was originally purchased, I was told I could do this. But where exactly is this found?

I have downloaded and installed akeeba backup as well.

Someone PLEASE HELP! This project was supposed to be live over a week ago and because the original template, I was told, was defunct, I had to start anew. I have never had so many issues with a template before in my life! I am not sure I will ever use this type again. I have WAY TOO MUCH TIME AND MONEY invested in this and need to follow through at this juncture. I just want it done!

Extremely frustrated newbie to VM and Joomla!
Please Help!

Hello,

Why you don't ask your template provider about that issues? Also a live url could help us to take a look on your issues. If is working fine with vm default template then you should look to your custom template because that one is not working correctly. But without a url difficult someone helps you out if it's possible.

take a look on that post: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108212.0

I think this is the real issue. It takes a long time to understand Joomla, how it functions, and how to structure templates for it - and then you add in one of the big Joomla components, VirtueMart,  to extend the CMS, which multiplies the problems. From your description you had a template that did not work for you or you could not get to work, so you start using another one?

There you did right, But that is the very first thing you should do when starting to construct a Joomla site. You must have a backup system in place, and to backup regularly, even as much as 5 or more times a day in active development.

As bytelord says, we need a live url. Without that it is not possible to understand your issues, which do seem to be related to the VM overrides installed in your Joomla template.

I did contact the template people and all they do is point me to you folks. The live url is http://www.hillaryscottstudios.com/index.php.  Again, I only have two products in here as of now.

Thanks for any guidance.

Frustrated:)

Is there a fix for this? I am so frustrated and have lost so much time, not to mention any profit this project would have made. What would you recommend?

:'(

bytelord

as i already recommended ... use firebug to examine and fix you css and edit your template php files...

it's time to learn a little bit design and development skills ...

Buying 2 templates and combine them is not a vm issue ... if you don't have at all design skills it will be little difficult and we cannot reply to any issues your templates haves.
