Since update to Joomla 3.5.1 and virtuemart 3.0.16 things on well working shops are going crazy:

I have to turn of Joomla SEO (friendly urls, add suffix,  url rewriting) to get  the shop working as usual!

With SEO I am not able to
- change payment methods anymore
- hide prices for visitors (only registrated users were able to shop)

This worked well before update
To disable SEO in virtuemart doesn't help!!

Ye 3.0.16 break some of my shops too.
SO you have to check your templates overides.
Eg thumb url is not generate on using $product_model->addImages($product); and some template get only the the thumb URL from this, so your thumbs are missing.

So it is not a VM problem? You have to turn off Joomla SEF for things to work?

Check your ACL settings if using that.
