EV SSL certificates were designed to strengthen e-commerce security, combat phishing attacks and to create the most complete SSL certificate available. Visual assurance helps e-commerce merchants increase trust, reduce shopping cart abandonment, and build long-term revenue. To know more about it you can try this link

There are number of SSL products available online so it is very important for you to identify best SSL product for your ecommerece website.

As suggested by other members, i will not recommend going for wildcard SSL certificate until and unless your ecommerce website having multiple sub-domains. I will really appreciate if you can share your ecommerce website or share some information about your requirement; i can accordingly suggest best SSL certificate brand that suits your requirement and can save some $$ too.

Kindly check ClickSSL recommendation SSL certificate tool to learn more about your requirements.

I'm using this free one on my live Joomla 2.5.x/VM2.x shop: http://www.startssl.com/?app=1. Works nicely. But if you want to use this one, I would recommend to first ask your website hoster if they would assist you with installing it on their server, because the technicians might only know their standard commercial certificate.
