Hi everybody!

I have one problem with VM 2.6.6. I have two language site, and when I clone products from main language to English and associate that products at new categories in English which I had created earlier, that original products from main language loose their categories. And when I associate them to their categories in main language, then products in English loose their categories.

This driving me nuts. >:(

Every help I would appreciated.

Hmmm. I managed to figured out this, but I hope there is another easier way. I first cloned products in a same language. Then in that clones change to English and save. Also I found this solution http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=121578.0 (but then I have a same problem because ID product match in both language, so I then have a same problem with categories) ....   but I hope there is an easier path.

Can I do this on another way?

Thanks.

Milbo

the problem is maybe here http://php.net/manual/en/language.oop5.cloning.php

"Any properties that are references to other variables, will remain references."

Could be solved already in VM3, if not, I wont do it for vm2.6, maybe someone else.

Thanks for help. But this is to advanced for me.

I hope VM will improve this functionality for some another versions.

Ups I'm new at VM, and made a beginners mistake. I have created separately categories for another language, that's why I couldn't associate them because it was category with different ID.

Everything is fine, so far.

Thanks.

Milbo

ah yes :-)
It comes from joomla. You just followed the joomla way. In joomla you need 3 menus for 2 languages.

If you start now, you should directly use vm2.9.9 with the builtin language fallback. http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/764/com_virtuemart.2.9.9_extract_first.zip
