Cannot save changes to Config or Shop

Brand new clean install of J2.5.2 and Virtuemart 2.0.2 - no errors....
install 2.0.2_ext_aio, no errors.

Go to Virtuemart config....make changes and click on "save & close" nothing happens - no changes saved....click on "Save" same problem....

go to Shop settings .... same problem - cannot save any changes. Using Firefox 10.0.2 same problem in IE. Javascripting is on and working....

Anyone have any ideas.....??

Searching for hours reveals nothing......and STILL NO RESPONSE!! or should that be NO SUPPORT FOR THE PRODUCT!!

I have reproduced this problem several times and even went thru the J1.5.25/VM1.1.9 via jUpgrade path to J2.5.2 - still have the same problem. Can not even get to the Tools & Migration step because I cannot switch on "Enable database Update tools".

I do not believe I am the only one in the world to have this problem, it is so reproducable......

Turn on debug mode in global configuration. Maybe there is a MySQL error somewhere. If so debug mode will fish it out.

Can't switch on anything..... The problem is not being able to save any changes in config - so cannot switch on debug....   

Thanks for responding...Banging your head against a brick wall on your own is no fun - at least complaining to someone about the headache helps...

This also seems to be a WinXP problem !!!

I meant joomla config.  In the admin section site->global configuration->server tab, i think.

To repeat myself  "The problem is not being able to save any changes in config - so cannot switch on debug" or Vendor or any other Virtuemart settings....

It is a js problem, the menu is not closed.

Now this is what I call a completely UNHELPFUL comment.....Again to repeat myself "Using Firefox 10.0.2 same problem in IE. Javascripting is on and working...." see attachment....stock standard Firefox installation on WindowsXP and it is only Virtuemart that has a problem ...maybe you should fix your js coding ??

Re-install, and "install sample data"

Then, set yourself to vendor if you are not

Same thing here,  in local environment( no internet) using winXP Pro SP3, apache 2.2.21 win32 and php 5.3.10 :

Brand new clean install of J2.5.4 and Virtuemart 2.0.6 - no errors...
install 2.0.6_ext_aio, no errors.
Using latest firefox, chrome and ie.

The error is:  i cannot save anything in virtuemart backend, i can add my self as vendor, i get no error in debug mode, using Bluestork - Default  admin template and installed nothing else than virtuemart and ext_aio
It seem like the (Save & Close button / Save button / Cancel button ) dont have a link or action.

I can go anywhere, i can fill the field but it does not save.   It does  not even reload when i click the button.
In the configuration panel i have  an  option called  (Use external google jquery library) set as default, i can disable it but i cant save... so it is useless


Any help would be appreciate

Fixed for me,

I think it is related the the jquery, in an no internet mode it was not able to load the jquery from an external server. The step i took was to open the administrator/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart.cfg file with a txt editor and change the line : google_jquery=1 to google_jquery=0. After having save the file, i had to go to the virtuemart backend / Tools / Tools & migration / Renew config by file. This was done for me and everything work now in my local(non internet) environment.

That is exactly the way to go, the reason I created this with the file. When even the tools are not accessible it is enough to delete the entry in the virtuemart_config table.

And as I said before. It is a jquery problem.
