Hi!

Really need to add a visual datepicker to custom fields so clients can pick a date of excursion that i am selling. Which solutions i have to do it:
- to put somewhere inside a java datepicker code?
- to hire a php-coder who will write me a brand new plugin?
- to try to put a userfield datepicker into custom field?
- or something else .....

I have not a clue what to do and where to start?

Thets really urgent to do, because without it my e-shop cannot work properly.

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Sorry to piggy back onto your thread but, Can someone PLEASE answer this? I've been looking for this same answer for weeks now to no avail.

You may use jquery.datepicker plugin
http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/

Attach this plugin to your custom date field by id or css-class

Definitely a good possibily but is there a way the date can affect pricing? Meaning if i choose any day in may then the price changes?

Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

This can hapen if you can set your datepicker to display as enabled only the dates that exist as options to your custom field.

Many thanks for the hint!!!! That would be really nice if i could to put that datepicker in date custom field. Is it possible to do without php - javascript knowledge? Or would you please help me in that?

balai

This depends on your datepicker. I suppose that you will have to write some js to implement that.
But 1st you have to find a datepicker script in which you can set the enabled dates.

Well if i found one free datepicker that do what i need. How can i insert it in date custom field or even better custom field plugin text input? May be there is somebody who can do it for a reasonable fee?

Are there any news about the way to put a date picker on a product page? I do not need to effect price i just need to choose a single date. Please help if some one know how to do it!

Hmm, simply change the initialisation of datepicker.
Based on example by my link in previous post:
<script>
$(function() {
$( "put_here_some_selectors_of_your_date_fields" ).datepicker();
});
</script>

Do you know, how jQuery selectors works?

For those of you who don't need pricing adjustments based on date, we can already support this with our integration extension:

I don't believe you can do this (yet) with native VM2 custom fields. You may want to check out our extension then, because it gives you the ability to use any style of fields supported in one of the best form design components for Joomla, Breezing Forms by Crosstec.

Our Breezing Forms Custom Fields extension offers a viable approach for complex custom fields, as long as you don't need parent/child products or to track stock by each of the options. It does NOT track stock by each option selected.

This extension seamlessly integrates a completely custom Crosstec Breezing Form into the custom field area of a VirtueMart 2 product. Because BreezingForms is a fully featured form development component, this means that you can do all those great things you expect from best selling form design software (including checkboxes),  then use that form as the way to capture product options and attributes for a VM2 product.

If you think this sounds like it might help you, here's a link to our documentation to learn more: http://docs.polishedgeek.com/wiki/display/BFCUSTOM . There's a also a YouTube video there on the doc homepage that explains it a bit more.

You can learn more about the form component our extension integrates here: Crosstec BreezingForms http://crosstec.de/en/extensions/joomla-forms-download.html   (You have to have both VM2 and BreezingForms to use our extension).

**The plugin has been vetted by the VirtueMart team** and is available for sale on our website or here on VirtueMart.net (http://extensions.virtuemart.net/extensions-virtuemart-2/breezing-forms-custom-fields-plugin-detail)

I'm happy to answer any questions you have. Feel free to pose them in the forum here, or if you would prefer to discuss your requirements more privately, just open a ticket: https://polishedgeek.com/clients/contact.php

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information and guidelines. Now I'll have to dabble with the code a bit to get my desired result or alternatively find an easier solution. Luck for me, I'm not working on a live site - it's just for my personal learning.
