Packaging Size to Tie-in with Inventory System

I don't know if this has ever been done before but I've been trying to get this done with no success.

Here's the overview of what I require.
My client sells whiskies in both bottles and cases (which are often bottles of 6 but occassionally, some distilleries sell them in 7).
So if the parent item has 60 bottles, its child product Bottle and Cases should automatically reflect that it has 60 bottles and 10 cases.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
