Add categories/subcategories to main menu

How can I automatically have subcategories added to the Joomla main menu?

For example lets say that I add Virtuemart category "ABC" to the main menu.  How can I make it so that all the subcategories (and sub-subcategories) automatically show up under the "ABC" menu item?

I know that I can add them manually but this is a real pain in the butt if there are tons of subcategories, especially if they are changing frequently.
