I've tried to upload images for products but it kept saying

"Error: Cannot write to product image directory:
/var/www/vhosts/kabale.me/httpdocs/kabale/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/"

:(
Anyone has an idea to resolve this ..?

Thank you

Hello,

Have you checked the folder permission?

it should be 755 or 777.

Also might need to ensure that Joomla configuration >>FTP might need to be enabled. Only sometimes does this have some
bearings on uploading files or images- depending on how you upload.
Plus image type .jpg, etc

Hello, I am also battling to upload product images. I have checked directory permissions and they are okay. i set up the FTP section of the config yet when i try and upload product images and click Save, the screen goes back to the product list page with no error message displayed yet the image has not been uploaded.

Any ideas as to what I can do?

Thanks

Ok can you FTP load to the server - like any file .

That will prove you have the correct server settings. Next in Joomla in the server settings FTP you have that set correctly
If you have - maybe then in teh Joomla config - have a look in the config settings on the server file and type 1, and 0 or on and off to chnge the settings there. Joomla sometimes ( especially old settings did not recognise the switch)

Next make your images smaller- That might happen if the file is too big - so 100k is a good place to test images.

Thus you might have to change file upload size.

try those first.

Thank you for your assistance.

FTP to/from the server via FTP client works 100%.

I have checked to config to verify if FTP is on and settings are correct.

I have also tried uploading a 28kb file and still no success.
