I'm using 2.026d virtuemart version, php version 5.3.27 and Joomla Version 2.5.19. Based on this image, how to get rid the double add/minus buttons.

Possibly something in your Joomla template overriding the width set for span.quantity-controls input.quantity-controls which should be 15px.
