problem with virtuemart and authorize.net

Virtuemart 1.1.9
Joomla 1.5.24 Stable
Php 5.2.17

I have read this forum for 3 days, found similar problems to mine, and tried to implement ALL solutions with no success!!!!
I am getting very frustrated and am to the point to either pulling Virtuemart out of the site or paying someone to fix it.

So, I have been working with the payment method set up as Credit Card:
Active: Y
Payment Method Name: Credit Card
Code: AN
Payment class name: ps_authorize
Payment method type: Credit Card
Accepted Credit Card Types: MC, Visa, Discover, Amex (yes, our authorize.net account accepts them all)
Shopper Group: default
Discount: 0.0
Discount Type: Total
Maximum discount amount: 0.00
Minimum discount amount: 0.00
List Order: 0

Configuration
Test Mode: Yes
Authorize.Net Server Hostname: test.authorize.net / secure.authorize.net (tried both)
Authorize.net API Login ID: present, got through auth.net
Authorize.net transaction key: present, got through auth.net
Request/Capture credit card code value: yes
Recurring Billings: No/Yes - tried both
Authentication type: AUTH_CAPTURE
Order Status for successful transactions: Confirmed
Order status for failed transactions: Pending
Show response for failed transactions: Yes
Email Confirmation from gateway to merchant: Yes
Email Confirmation from gateway to customer: Yes

So, authorize.net processes the test payments and the live payments I have tested with. ALL I get with every single transaction from virtuemart is:
Error: 3-2-13-P---(TESTMODE) The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive. (FYI, the account is fine, we use it all day, everyday. We also just signed up for the API account last week)
Error: Failure in Processing the Payment (ps_authorize)


Like I said, I have tried every configuration as suggested in these forums with no success.

Should I dump Virtuemart for good or do you have a suggestion?

Make sure you have correctly set the API and transaction key in the payment configuration. This is tricky. But you should find lots of information by searching in the forum.
