Virtuemart Categories Opening in Home Page

I've spent a good few days now trying to sort out this annoying problem. I have the Virtuemart Categories Module installed, when I link on one of the categories the Virtuemart Article appears in the Home Page, rather than in its own page. All of the Modules which are set to only be on the Home Page are all there.

I used the same links for my top menu and they work fine. I'm baffled.

I want it set so that for example, instead of this...

http://79.143.180.48/WebSiteOne/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=25&Itemid=1

it appears like this...

http://79.143.180.48/WebSiteOne/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=25&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=71&Itemid=53

Is there any way of fixing this?

I am having the exact same issue, but I already posted it and no one replied. When i use firebug or Chromes development tools I get "Access to restricted URI denied" and in the console sector I get "2event.layerX and event.layerY are broken and deprecated in WebKit. They will be removed from the engine in the near future.

If you click on any of the categories on the left or any of the product links in the featured products area on the home page non of the links work, it just cycles the home page....uuurrrgghhhhhh!!!!! The pages in the Nav bar work great.

First thing I see is that there is no Main menu link to the VirtueMart component. Other than that (and the long dev url) I can't see anything wrong, but I have not built a site with VM1.1 for nearly 2 years now, ever since VM2 was at early beta, so I am more used to VM2  issues.

do you think if I upgrade to the 2.0 that might fix the issue? I noticed that once I got into the inside of VM on the front end it works fine it is just getting passed the home page.

Newer do an upgrade to fix an issue. It is not an upgrade it is a migration, but then you would use Joomla 2.5 as J1.5 is end of supported life.

Have you tried adding a mainmenu link?
